Is your child’s age above 2.5 years? If yes, then you ought to start searching and reaching out

Nursery education plays an important role in every child’s life since children develop not just
physically but psychologically and socially, they learn to interact, make decisions and act
freely within an environment. Children’s emotional, cognitive, social, and physical health
depend on receiving strong early education and care. A quality pre-primary education gives
children a strong foundation by enabling them to develop their potentials and learn crucial
life skills in an exciting, engaging and motivating setting.

Look out for modern progressive curriculum

One must definitely look for the education system that incorporates activities related to
practical life where they learn how to take care of themselves, others, and the environment
where they live. Watch out for a very modern progressive curriculum that is built on
scientific knowledge and skill development.

Most of the schools have a similar procedure for admitting nursery students, with minor
variations based on their formality. Keeping the forms of at least 5 good schools ready is like
being on the safer side.

If you’re interested in learning more about the School Admissions in Delhi process, some of the key
factors are as follows:

1. Check for schools in the neighbourhood

Admissions are usually offered to children residing within 3 to 6 km radius of the school.
The students within a 3km radius of their residence would be given first preference during
admission. Each school has a different way of allocating points based on distance. However,
most schools have bifurcated points based on the distance of the candidate’s residence to the
school.

2. Talk to the Admission Counsellors of the Schools

Contact the school using the phone number shown on their website if you are interested in
attending, and a member of their staff will get in touch with you to provide you with the
necessary information.

Girl Child/Single Parent- Some schools offer points for a girl child candidate or also for a
candidate who has a single parent.

Sibling Quota: Schools may provide points to candidates whose siblings (actual brothers or
sisters) are enrolled in the same school for the current academic year.

Transferred Defence Employee- Some schools award parents who work in the defence
industry 5 to 10 points.

Parents being Alumni of the School- Points are allocated to a particular candidate whose
parent(s) has been an alumnus of the same school (or school group). The points allocated
however may differ from school to school.

Please Note: There are no points for Parents’ Educational Qualifications or Jobs.

3. Tour the Campus

It is very important to get the whole picture of the school, hence, you must visit the campus.
To better understand the area where your child would be, you can go there in person. The
facilities of a school have an impact on the children’ overall learning process as well as their
mental and physical development. These have some influence on their academic and over-all
achievement. Thus, parents must take the school’s facilities into account.

4. Admission Guidance

Professional counsellors conduct the admission counselling, which is a crucial component of
the admission process.

5. Send in your application

Under the supervision of a counsellor, you can complete the application form either
physically or online and submit it along with the necessary paperwork.

Documents to be attached at the time of submission of forms:

  • Recent passport size colour photograph of the child, father and mother, duly pasted on specified place marked on the Admission Form.
  • Attested photocopy of Birth Certificate issued by the competent authority.

admission.

Original documents are required to be produced at the time of admission. The parents
will be responsible for all entries in the Admission Form vis a vis its authenticity. If false
entries are detected on verification at any time, the same will lead to disqualification of the
candidature, even if admitted, hence it is important to be careful.

Your child’s place is reserved after the admission fees have been paid.

To avoid missing the deadlines or being in a last-minute rush, be sure to ask about the
admissions and document submission dates in advance and set a reminder.

All the Very Best.
