April 22nd is celebrated as the Earth Day that aims to stimulate awareness and appreciation of Earth's environment. It is all about recognizing the uniqueness of our planet Earth with incredible biodiversity.
To celebrate International Earth Day' diverse activities were conducted by students of Grade Nursery and Prep at Prudence School Dwarka 22 to understand the biodiversity and ways to protect our nature plants, animals, and the environment.
Students zealously dived into and were involved in augmenting a drill by holding informative hoardings in their hands, voicing voluble slogans Reuse, Recycle, Reduce to keep the Earth clean, Save Energy, Drive less, Walk more, Lend a Hand to save the Land and elevated their voice in support and concern for environmental protection. Students were also apprised with few small steps which they can follow to protect the environment and can make influential impacts on the planet such as brushing teeth with the water tap off, remembering to turn the lights off when, not in the room and say no to plastics, etc. It is the day to showcase environmental education, highlight effects to engage the students in making a difference which was well evident when students assimilated to return something back to nature and got involved in sowing seeds, tree plantation, usage of paper bags, planting and watering a plant, hugging a tree, throwing the tissue in the dustbin and much more. Furthermore, an informative skit and dance were performed by the students that gave a powerful message to sensitize them to keep surroundings clean and appropriate actions are taken to be a voice of change.
