Visit to Doll Museum
Learning is an experience. Everything else
is just information.¯ - Albert Einstein
Trips and excursions are an essential
component of experiential learning since they leave an everlasting impression
on the minds of the young children. As Prudence stands for experiential
learning the children of Grade 1 were taken to the Dolls Museum on Thursday,
22nd August 2019. This excursion helped children enhance their observation
skills and knowledge about an amazing collection of dolls under the theme,
Clothes. The dolls in the museum are organized according to the country they
come from, providing an interesting peek into different cultures through their
traditional costumes and depiction of their activities.
Dolls museum is nothing short of a
fairyland for children. They were so engrossed in admiring beautiful vintage
dolls from various Indian states, and other countries the cute South Korean
dolls, the Russian dolls with chubby cheeks, the brightest and the most
colourful dolls of Peru, the Flamenco dancers from Spain in their flowing
gowns, the dolls with very unique hairstyles and hair accessories of Japan and
much more¦ The several decades old dolls that looked flawless in the meticulous
detailing that had gone into their embroidered dresses and neatly arranged
coiffures fascinated the children a lot. Children had a fun filling and a
learning experience.
